After her daughter was diagnosed as deaf, Anakristen began learning American Sign Language alongside her and documenting their family's journey. She serves on the Delaware Hands & Voices Board of Directors and is passionate about supporting families as they navigate hearing loss, language access, and advocacy. Through storytelling, advocacy, and practical examples from everyday life, she encourages families to focus on connection over perfection and to create language-rich environments where every child can thrive. She lives in Delaware with her husband and two daughters.
