Dr. Michelle Hu

Michelle is a pediatric audiologist, speaker, author, and the founder of Mama Hu Hears. She grew up wearing hearing aids, now uses bilateral cochlear implants, and is learning ASL alongside her family. She has sat in nearly every chair in the clinic: the deaf pediatric patient, the deaf adult patient, the audiologist, and the parent.

For more than 16 years she has worked with deaf and hard of hearing children and their families through diagnostics, hearing technology, cochlear implants, and family-centered care. Today she helps professionals and parents look past the test results and see the child in front of them.

She is also a mom of four, a military spouse, and a classically trained chef. Her mission is simple: bridge the gap between clinical care and real life so that deaf and hard of hearing children and their families can thrive.
